Glittery Living

Balancing Body, Mind, And Spirit

Whilst working professionally as a teacher and lecturer, I trained in transcendental meditation in the 90's, and went on to train to be a reiki master-teacher and aromatherapist.

Since developing a long term illness in 2003, I have been using my knowledge of holistic therapies and holistic living on myself.  Mainly to calm me the heck down (it can be extremely stressful living with a long-term illness)!

Over the years I have found a range of relaxation techniques, and natural beauty secrets that work a treat for me. I regularly meditate, give myself reiki treatments, and use aromatherapy blends in and around my home to help manage the symptoms I live with on a daily basis.

I have found holistic therapies and holistic living invaluable in allowing me to have a more empowered attitude towards living with an illness. No matter how ill I feel or how difficult the symptoms are, I know I have tools to hand which offer me choices about how I can respond to the illness.

Having spoken with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), I have discovered that I can share my personal experiences of using holistic therapies here on my blog, as long as I don't make any claims that haven't been verified scientifically, or try to sell anything.

I've been advised to let you know that I'm not a medical practitioner and am not advocating that what works for me will work for you. You can learn more about the FHT by visiting their website here. My suggestions, personal opinions, and experience should not be construed as professional advice.  I write Mimi and Tillly for entertainment purposes only, and am not providing legal, medical or any other professional advice.

Over the next few months, I'll be writing different posts about my experiences of using holistic therapies and will publish links here for you on this page, so you can find each post easily.

Sending glitter and smiles,
